| 5 | In the pre-BENE phase there is the preparation of the Design Studies.

| 7 | In the COLLECTOR time table, I have factorised the Join COLLECTOR & TARGET

| 11 | 1. The Collector Test Area (CTA) proposal oct 2004: the idea is that after presenting the

| 12 | DS, we need certainly some preliminary R&Ds to be able to draw some reasonable

| 13 | CTA.

| 14 | 2. The Status Report on the CTA: it occurs ~sep. 2005, that is to say 1 year after the

| 15 | CTA proposal. The idea is that at that date we may have all the element to build a
|

| 16 | second generation HORN prototype (CERN prototype is 1st generation) with all the
|
|---|
| 17 | drawing, ready to launch the fabrication to be able to get something in 2006.

| 18 | 3. The SuperBeam solution report: (end of 2006). After the CTA building and series of
|

| 19 | Test we may be in position to validate the choices to propose a viable solution for
|
|---|
| 20 | SPL/Frejus SuperBeam. This allows us to make the final tunig in 2007 to be ready for
|
|---|
| 21 | the experiment calendar.

| 22 | 4. The NuFact solution report (early 2008): the idea is beyond the SuperBeam solution
|

| 23 | we should conclude if the HORN is a viable solution for the NuFact. The CTA and
|

| 24 | other R&Ds (in the world) should be able to answer at the time.

| 25 | 5. The final report (end 2008) should be the conclusion of the Network Activity with the
|

| 26 | summary of the two solutions (SuperBeam/NuFact).

| 28 | In the mean while there are dates in 2005 if we need other DS, and they are yearly status

| 29 | reports on the: electrical power supply studies, mechanical/thermal studies, irradiated material

| 32 | Also , there are 2 international workshops TARGET & COLLECTOR:: March 2005 and

| 33 | march 2007. Vittorio suggests that these Workshops take place in October rather that March
