v3 v4 5 5 6 6 7 There is an early version of a virtual appliance for trying out Aquilon, available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/quattor/files/appliances/aquilon. ova. This version of the appliance is for testing only. Although it can produce profiles, it is not yet integrated with QWG templates and there is a large amount of work remaining to productionize the appliance.7 There is an early version of a virtual appliance for trying out Aquilon, available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/quattor/files/appliances/aquilon.iso. This version of the appliance is for testing only. Although it can produce profiles, it is not yet integrated with QWG templates and there is a large amount of work remaining to productionize the appliance. 8 8 9 9 This appliance provides: … … 12 12 * A webserver providing access to the generated profiles and providing an interface to manage the appliance. 13 13 14 This virtual appliance is available in OVA format, tested on VMware Fusion and Virtual Box.14 This virtual appliance is available in ISO format, tested on VMware Fusion. 15 15 16 To install the appliance, use the import appliance feature of your virtual environment.16 To install the appliance, create a Linux Ubuntu 64-bit VM (no special requirements - I've typically used 5GB disk, 1GB memory, 1 processor) with your favourite virtualization software. Add the ISO to the CD for the virtual machine and boot the machine. On boot this will display a Turnkey appliance logo and ask you to install the software on the virtual machine. Please see the detailed walkthrough if you need more information. 17 17 18 The virtual appliance on startup should display the network address and some URL's for managing the appliance (for example changing the networking parameters, etc). You can visit http://ADDRESS:5000/ to configure and use Aquilon. 18 Once the appliance has started up normally the console will show an Aquilon URL that you can use from a web browser to activate the appliance. You should see a web page similar to the screenshot below. 19 20 There is an intent to automate much of the activation but that work is incomplete. Therefore the only option is to use a manual activation. This means you should fill in the organisation code (the distinguished name in LDAP terms) and a text representation of the organisation, but leave the Quattor URL empty. Submit that form to activate your appliance. At this point your appliance will be ready for use.
