Geant4 9.0
   released 5 February 2008 (patch-02)

Please read the Release Notes before downloading or using this release.
The patches below contains bug fixes to release 9.0, we suggest you to download and apply the latest patch for release 9.0 (see the additional notes), or download the complete source with the patches applied; in any case, it is required to apply a full rebuild of the libraries.

  • Data files (*) for specific, optional physics processes some of the following files are required. The file format is compatible with Unix, GNU, and Windows utilities.
    • Neutron data files with thermal cross sections (version 3.11, 52202177 bytes)
      [version 0.2 (12465281 bytes), if thermal cross-sections are not needed].
    • data files (8014893 bytes) for low energy electromagnetic processes (version 4.3).
    • data files (7505082 bytes) for photon evaporation (version 2.0).
    • data files (761070 bytes) for radio-active decay hadronic processes (version 3.2).
  • Libraries compiled with Geant4 default settings and optimization turned on. Please choose according to your system/compiler:
    • Scientific Linux CERN 4 (SLC4, based on Redhat Linux Enterprise 4), compiled using gcc 3.4.6 (14158479 bytes).
    • SUN (SunOS 5.8), compiled using CC 5.5 (39360014 bytes).
    • Windows XP, compiled using VC++ 8.0 and native STL (53063574 bytes).
  • Libraries have been built using CLHEP version 2.0.3.1. Please refer to the Release Notes for platform specific notes on CLHEP.

Patches for the above release of GEANT4

To install the patch, the archive should be unpacked in the Geant4 installation area where the directory geant4.9.0 is placed, and kernel libraries must be recompiled from scratch.

  • Patch-02 (5 February 2008) for Geant4.9.0 contains a collection of various corrections, see the description before downloading the patch itself in the correct format:
    • GNU tar file (1126809 bytes) (including tar on Linux), compressed using gzip;
    • Unix tar file (1126761 bytes), compressed using gzip;
    • ZIP file (1426645 bytes).
  • Patch-01 (28 August 2007) for Geant4.9.0 contains a collection of various corrections, see the description before downloading the patch itself in the correct format:
    • GNU tar file (874516 bytes) (including tar on Linux), compressed using gzip;
    • Unix tar file (874619 bytes), compressed using gzip;
    • ZIP file (1073403 bytes).

Geant4 8.3
   released 5 February 2008 (patch-02)

Patches for the above release of GEANT4

To install the patch, the archive should be unpacked in the Geant4 installation area where the directory geant4.8.3 is placed, and kernel libraries must be recompiled from scratch.

Geant4 8.2
   released 23 February 2007 (patch-01)
